The Purpose of A.R.A. of New Jersey
TO PROVIDE information and the opportunity to exchange ideas and views about the rental business, the industry in general, its suppliers and other support groups.
TO LEARN OR DEVELOP methods, systems, skills and relationships, old and new, that enable members to operate their business more professionally, efficiently and profitably by all lawful means.
TO PROMOTE friendship, cooperation and social interaction among its membership, people with common interests and affiliations with the rental industry.
A.R.A. of New Jersey MISSION STATEMENT
THE MISSION OF THE AMERICAN RENTAL ASSOCIATION OF NEW JERSEY IS TO PROMOTE, REPRESENT AND ENHANCE THE RENTAL INDUSTRY FOR THE BENEFIT OF ITS MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC.
GOAL 1 Promote the Professional Image of the Rental Industry.
GOAL 2 Strengthen Customer Awareness of the Rental Concept.
GOAL 3 Promote A.R.A. of N.J. Membership to Firms in the Rental Industry.
GOAL 4 Provide Services which Improve the Membership's Business and Entrepreneurial Skills.
GOAL 5 Assimilate and Communicate Information Pertinent to A.R.A. N.J. and the Rental Industry.
GOAL 6 Establish and Encourage Cooperation with Manufacturers and Suppliers to the Rental Industry.
GOAL 7 Represent the Rental Industry before Governmental Bodies and in other Public Forums.
GOAL 8 Represent A.R.A. N.J. to other Organizations with Common Interests.

A.R.A. of New Jersey is a subsidiary association of the The American Rental Association, which is a not-for-profit, membership-based national trade association comprised of more than 4,000 independent businesses involved in the rental of equipment and other personal property. A.R.A. was organized in 1955 and is in its 43rd year.
A.R.A. members serve the general public in providing short-term rentals of construction machinery and equipment, homeowner items, durable medical equipment and devices, exercise and recreational equipment, party equipment, and vehicles and other mobile equipment.
The mission of A.R.A. is to promote, represent and enhance the rental industry for the benefit of its members and the public. The Association provides the structure and knowledge for rental firms to achieve collective business goals.
A.R.A. conducts research and furnishes educational information to member rental firms through seminars, audio/visual tapes, manuals, booklets, an Internet web site and the Rental Equipment Industry Foundation (R.E.I.F.) video lending library. The lending library includes videos on equipment safety, management, environmental considerations, industry profile and trade, employee training, rental contracts and more.
The A.R.A. Annual Convention and Rental Trade Show, the largest rental trade show in the world, brings together thousands of rental store owners and equipment manufacturers in a premier marketplace for rental products.
A.R.A. monitors proposed legislation affecting small business and the rental industry through its Government Affairs Office in the Washington, D.C., area. The Congress, government departments, regulatory agencies and the U.S. Supreme Court are covered at the federal level. A.R.A.'s on-line electronic legislative search system reports current developments in both Congress and each of the state legislatures. A.R.A.'s 43 subsidiary state associations receive bill summaries, amendments, committee actions, floor votes and other such actions as they occur.
