Minutes of ARA-New Jersey September, 15, 1999 Meeting

President Tony Perrotta welcomed all those who made it through the bad weather and called meeting to order promptly at 8 PM.

Reading of the minutes of the last meeting was dispensed with. Members were advised that they are posted on the Internet.

Associate members were invited to speak on their products and services. Seven Associates took advantage of this opportunity and some new products and lines were introduced.

The President thanked Murray Vale for the use of his facilities at A-1 Table Cloth Company and Murray told the membership about his company and its moto, "Quality that costs less."  He introduced key personnel and invited the ARA-New Jersey for a tour of his plant after the meeting.

Treasurer reported a balance of $9,334.50 in the treasury.

Education Chairman, Howard Heller, asked for suggestions and reviewed videos received from National - he noted they put him to sleep.

Steve Kohn, National Liaison chairman, told of a touring seminar from National and advised that the Anaheim mailing is out.

Social Chairman John Futcher said we must know who will come to Casino Night by October 31st.

The night's speaker, Jim Lease of AK Medical Services was introduced. He gave an overview of what to expect if OSHA shows up on your doorstep. He had many suggestions and helpful hints on how to handle their inquiry and yourself during an OSHA check. His talk was well received and he answered many questions from the membership.

Before the meeting was adjourned, Tony asked if members specializing in party goods are doing anything different regarding sales for Millennium parties. Steve Kohn advised that he is insisting on cash in advance.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 PM

Respectfully submitted,
