We’re calling the 2002 March meeting of the ARA of New Jersey an unqualified success. Both regular and associate members filled the space provided by John Futcher, Jr. of Unirents and his able staff. To add to the many meeting delights John’s sister’s fine catering for the meeting left everyone receptive to the session that followed.
After individual associate members enlightened the membership as to additions and changes in their product lines, in-depth committee reports brought everyone up-to-date concerning the world of the rental industry and future meetings. The excitement of the membership to the announcement that Joe McKinney, a REAP advisor, will participate in the next meeting, bodes well for the turnout that can be expected then.
To start the meeting’s two-part program, Jerry Kermes of Southern Propane in Mahwah, NJ brought everyone up to snuff as to the new regulations going into effect on April 1, 2002 regarding the over filling protection device (OPD) for propane tanks of 40 lbs and under. It was most informative and the literature handed out will aid our members to stay within the new law.
For the second leg of the evening’s program, Kevin Schulman, a sales training expert with the firm of Schulman, Turrisi & Associates spoke of “networking” as a viable way of increasing sales and exposure for ourselves and our businesses. It was a fascinating concept and the Q & A session at the end of the session, to everyone’s delight, generated a lot of give and take.
This meeting was well attended and fruitful – no one could have asked for more.
